It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Cranes energies, virtually a rebirth. There were many famous songs of Cranes available. Since completing 1994’s ‘Shining Road’, Cranes fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Great Indie right here!
This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Loved. Reverie - This one is lively and fun. There is excellent mix of music in Lilies. Cranes is one of artists that allow his songs like Are You Gone? to stand on their own and be heard. Loved is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Loved. When listening to Beautiful Friend, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Bewildered (4:22) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! I find myself hearing bits of Come This Far here and there throughout my waking hours. This is probably my favorite song on the album. In The Night is pretty funky and mellow.
