Lead single “All Time High” and “Animal Print” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Jim Jones has compared writing for Count Basic’s new album to that on ‘Life Think It Over’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. After seeing All Time High, I had to have a good Count Basic cd. If I may, I suggest “All Time High”. That one song is amazing!
There is exquisite mix of music in Animal Print. A unique and uplifting song. Count Basic is hitting on all cylinders in Hide and Seek. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Life Think It Over is Is It Real. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Jazz In The House. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. M. L. In The Sunshine make listening to Count Basic like being in some sort of time warp. Prelude still maintains something of a specific flourish. So Close sets the tone for the entire album. Strange Life - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. I hope to keep hearing Count Basic works for a long time to come.
