It has been seven years Coil’ last studio CD, “Unnatural History II” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After seeing Red Weather, I had to have a good Coil cd. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Coil energies, virtually a rebirth. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
This is one hell of a track. I now have Airborne Bells as one of my personal favorites. Another Brown World great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Contains A Disclaimer is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. The Hellraiser Theme - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. In Memory Of The Truth is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Unquiet Rest is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I can’t stop playing Wait, Then Return. Strong, powerful vocals of Coil in The Hellbound Heart are very impressive. The Box Theme the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Coil offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. This is probably my favorite song on the album.
