It has been nine years Coil’ last studio CD, “Stolen and Contaminated Songs” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Coil’s album Stolen and Contaminated Songs falls to No. 2 with 658,000, a sales slide of 55%. Now signed to Coil’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “Stolen and Contaminated Songs” leads Coil’s back-to-school campaign. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Original Chaostrophy
Original Chaostrophy gives taste of what makes Coil special as a musician. Who’ll Tell? is beautiful, yet underrated track. Omlagus Garfungiloops - This is a very lively song. Inkling to me is the best you can get from Coil. Song Love’s Secret Domain (Original Mix) is actually a funny song. Nasa-Arab is one of the best records ever. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Who’ll Fall? because the melody in the chorus is so good. The Original Wild Garlic Memory is probably one of Coil’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Wrim Wram Wrom. Corybantic Ennui has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Her Friends the Wolves….. is a striking and quite long song. In Light Shining Darkly the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation.
