On the Slovenia charts, superstar Classical - Various Artists’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Classical - Various Artists’s new album to that on ‘Under The Greenwood Tree’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. After seeing Walther Von Der Vogelweide / PalG¤stinalied, I had to have a good Classical - Various Artists cd. Overall, I would highly recommend Under The Greenwood Tree CD.
Richard I Of England (Coeur De Lion) / Ja Nuls Homs Pris is the albums biggest surprise. Get Under The Greenwood Tree and turn on Blondel De Nesle / A I’entrant D’este if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Raimbault De Vaquerias / Kalenda Maya - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Anon / Novus Miles Sequitur - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Classical - Various Artists rocks harder than ever with Anon / Estampie. Anon / Clap, Clap, Par Um Matin S’en Aloit Robin is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Anon / Robin Hood is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. A great put together song. Anon / The Wedding Of Robin Hood is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. The song feels complete. I came to like Anon / Sellengers Round. The sound of Anon / Greensleeves is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Anon / Greensleeves is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Under The Greenwood Tree is Henry Stoninges / Browning My Dear. Anon / Robin Hood and The Curtal Friar is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Anon / Robin Hood and The Tanner is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Classical - Various Artists ever produced. Claude Gervaise / Pavane: La Venissienne - Quart Livre De Danceries - another great track from the Under The Greenwood Tree album. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. The sound in Anon / Robin Hood and Maid Marian is really warm and Classical - Various Artists’s signature voice is still very much present. I hope to keep hearing Classical - Various Artists works for a long time to come. This track is full of harmonies and gets Under The Greenwood Tree off to a relaxing start. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Green Goose Fair is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Anon / Sweet Angel Of England, To The Tune “Bonny Sweet Robin” defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Thomas Simpson / Ricercar On “Bonny Sweet Robin” is a bit of a show-tune. Thomas Weelkes / When Kempe Did Dance Alone one is one of the better boring ones. When listening to Anon / O Lusty May, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable.
