This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Chuck Brown and Eva Cassidy has. This album has some very good songs like Let The Good Times Roll and Fever. Chuck Brown and Eva Cassidy’s debut, ‘The Other Side’, does not fit easily into one genre. Unappreciated gift to Blues
Fever is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Music and lyrics of You Don’t Know Me creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. I Could Have Told You So is the most memorable and excellent. Gee Baby Ain’t I Good To You one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. I’ll Go Crazy has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. God Bless The Child - I just love it. The song Red Top ending is my favorite… so catchy! Dark End Of The Street - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Shadow Of Your Smile is the funkiest number on the album. Chuck Brown and Eva Cassidy allows each song to breathe and flourish. You’ve Changed is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined.
