I am not a real New Age music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Collection’ really is amazing. On the Russia charts, superstar Chet Atkins’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Chet Atkins on ‘Hot Toddy’. Exciting stuff.
Heart Of Glass - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Chet Atkins. Album opener Medley is a bright, upbeat ditty. I’ll See You In My Dreams (3:24) - awsome. From the moment you listen to Strurrin’ you’re hooked. A great put together song. I like the idea behind Brandenburg. Over The Waves - another great track from the The Collection album. Limehouse Blues is gorgeous and different song. Some call Mostly Mozart from The Collection as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Storms Never Last is absolutely incredible. Vincent catches attention immediately, This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Caravan has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Chet Atkins’s strong vocals come to the fore. Rodrigo Concerto - Okay, I just talked about depth. Orange Blossom Special is the albums biggest surprise. I like On The Road Again because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Tenderly is possibly the best song Chet Atkins has come up.
