For older fans Escalona, Vol. 2 will put a massive smile accross your face. After seeing Casa en el Aire, I had to have a good Carlos Vives cd. While no new Carlos Vives album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1994 tour in Africa. This album is a scorcher!
Playonero is a bit different from Carlos Vives stereotypical stuff. General Dangond - Carlos Vives first major hit. Hambre del Liceo is worth the money. Still going through Escalona, Vol. 2 and coming to appreciate Maye more and more with every listen. Pirata de Loperena is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. It’s such an underrated song. Blew our minds when we first heard Paraguachon. Voice and instruments in Vieja Sara complement each other. Mala Suerte is another favourite of mine. Chevrolito - A nice song. Carlos Vives rocks harder than ever with Despedida. Brasilera had me crying as I was able to relate so well.
