When you buy a Capella Antiqua Bambergensis album, you know exactly what you’re getting! twelve years ago, Capella Antiqua Bambergensis briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Wach Auf Katerlin”. There is so much to love about Capella Antiqua Bambergensis, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I wish that “E Dame Jolie” album was instrumental.
Wach Auf Katerlin is outstanding work of Capella Antiqua Bambergensis. I can’t stop playing Tausend Dukaten. Excellent vocals and musical performances. A great put together song. Some of the arrangements found on E Dame Jolie are surprisingly edgy. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think E Dame Jolie is my favorite song on E Dame Jolie. Tancok - A catchy, upbeat tune. Pavane Sur La Battaglia is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through E Dame Jolie. Audite Nova good vocals. Kempp’s Jigg is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Overall a nice softer song. Charming song, great melody. E Dame Jolie couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track An Almaine. From the moment you listen to Ich Weiss Ein Feins Lustgartel you’re hooked. This track is a great song that still never gets old. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Verbum Caro Factum Est - Check out that bassline! Within the first few notes of Stingo it’s perfectly clear that Capella Antiqua Bambergensis is living this song. Now, O Now I Needs Must Part which is my favorite is a truly Capella Antiqua Bambergensis sounding song. The sound of Bamberger Stadtpfeifermarsch is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created.
