After seeing The Herald Angels Sing, I had to have a good Canadian brass cd. Christmas isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. On the U.S. charts, superstar Canadian brass’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Canadian brass is one of my favourite bands of all time.
This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Canadian brass. Canadian brass rocks harder than ever with God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Tuba solo) is worth the money. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Holly and the Ivy is the most memorable and amazing. Parade of the Wooden Soldiers stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. This track is a great song that still never gets old. I listened to the opening track The Toy Trumpet and liked it a lot. Ave Maria has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Greensleeves (1:46) - awsome. The huron carol is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Christmas. Simple and heartfelt closing track White Christmas closes Christmas on a high note. Winter Wonderland - A strong beat. I Saw Three Ships (Tuba Solo) very upbeat. Put Silver Bells into car stereo for your highway driving The first time I listened to Frosty, the Snow Man I was struck by its gorgeous sound. In O Holy Night it becomes nowhere more obvious that Canadian brass has yet to define own style. After you’ve listened to Sweet Songs of Christmas, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Tuba lullaby is my favorite song on Christmas.
