The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 3 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Bud Powell’s album The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 3 falls to No. 2 with 799,000, a sales slide of 77%. Now signed to Bud Powell’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 3″ leads Bud Powell’s back-to-school campaign. Smart music for smart people.
A Night in Tunisia as a highlight of The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 3 contains a ton of excellent melodies. Overall a nice softer song. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Parisian Thoroughfare is simply gorgeous. Autumn in New York is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Reets and I is perfect. Sure Thing gets you up and jumping. In Collard Greens and Black Eyed Peas the music gets its power. The song feels complete. Polka Dots and Moonbeams presents the amazing mix of instruments on The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 3. I Want to Be Happy is a good listen every once in a while. Audrey is one of the best records ever. First time I heard Glass Enclosure was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Bud Powell offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings Vol. 3 is My Heart Stood Still. You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Bag’s Groove is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. My Devotion is the first taste of the new album. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Woody N You has a fun tempo.
