There is so much to love about Bo Diddley, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. While no new Bo Diddley album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Europe. When you buy a Bo Diddley album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This album is a scorcher!
Bo Diddley must have run out of lyrics on the next track I’m Looking for a Woman. I’m a Man - For me, this is the best of the album. Mona is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. I’m Sorry (2:26) - awsome. Say Man - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Hey Bo Diddley has a fun tempo. The opening track Story of Bo Diddley is very much like you would expect from other albums. Before You Acuse Me very upbeat. From the moment you listen to Bo Diddley you’re hooked. You Can’t Judge a Book by Looking at the Cover is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. I like to sing along with Who Do You Love, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Pretty Thing have really caught my ear and imagination. Road Runner is one of my favorite songs by Bo Diddley.
