It has been five years Blonker’ last studio CD, “Journey To The Windward Islands” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After seeing Woman’s Reason, I had to have a good Blonker cd. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Blonker’s album Journey To The Windward Islands falls to No. 2 with 731,000, a sales slide of 69%. IT makes me wanna dance!
Take Off is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Blonker ever produced. Summerlightning is a amazing song and it grows on you. Blonker allows each song to breathe and flourish. I like the agression and power of Oriental Circuit. Once In A Blue Moon is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. I now have Magic Carpet as one of my personal favorites. Journey To The Windward Islands is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Blonker released so far. Blonker is one of artists that allow his songs like I’m A Capricorn to stand on their own and be heard. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
