After debuting at No. 1 last week, Black Rose’s album Into The Glass House falls to No. 2 with 159,000, a sales slide of 93%. Into The Glass House isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Since Black Rose last CD (Into The Glass House) on Virgin Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Into The Glass House is simple, dignified and effective, Black Rose refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. I find myself hearing bits of Always Returns here and there throughout my waking hours. Daydreams is one of the best records ever. Instants as a highlight of Into The Glass House contains a ton of marvelous melodies. The Love I Fear - A catchy, upbeat tune. Running Waters is a bit of a show-tune. For Some Deaest Ones - Okay, I just talked about depth. I can’t stop humming along Piano Solo. Once you hear The Time Has Come, you will listen to it over and over. Osare Pensare is a astounding, simple song by Black Rose at the top of his game.
