While no new Bernard Purdie album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1993 tour in Australia. Since Bernard Purdie last CD (Bernard Purdie’s Jazz Groove Sessions In Tokyo) on Columbia Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. Bernard Purdie’s Jazz Groove Sessions In Tokyo carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Changes
Changes (10:34) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Since I Fell For You which is my favorite is a truly Bernard Purdie sounding song. Music and lyrics of Cissy Strut creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. A great put together song. Green Onions - a classic song. Cold Sweat - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. So much energy, so exciting a sound.
