This disc has all of the essential B.B.King classics. There is so much to love about B.B.King, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, B.B.King comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Best of B.B. King.
This is one hell of a track. B.B.King sings his heart out in Ain’t That Just Like a Woman. Sweet Little Angel is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. You Upset Me Baby (3:32) - awsome. The Best of B.B. King couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Whole Lot of Lovin’. Why I Sing the Blues is the most memorable and gorgeous. When My Heart Beats Like a Hammer is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything B.B.King released so far. Three O’Clock Blues - Okay, I just talked about depth. Every Day I Have the Blues motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others.
