It has been seven years B.B.King’ last studio CD, “Lucille and Friends” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. B.B.King’s debut, ‘Lucille and Friends’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is one of the best Cd’s B.B.King has dropped to date. Another great offering from B.B.King.
Playin With My Friends is pretty funky and mellow. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. I like Caught A Touch Of Your Love because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. All You Ever Give Me Is The Blues is B.B.King’s best work in years. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Spirit In The Dark catches attention immediately, I like to sing along with Can’t Get Enough, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Since I Met You Baby is simple, dignified and effective, B.B.King refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. BB’s Blues pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Better Not Look Down is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track B.B.King ever produced. In Frosty the music gets its power. Voice of B.B.King in Hummingbird is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. B.B.King offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of B.B.King.
