I am not a real Avantgarde music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Soul Murder’ really is amazing. Barry Adamson was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Barry Adamson and Soul Murder together. Soul Murder isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Exciting stuff.
I have all of Barry Adamson’s tracks and Split is probably the most his introspective effort. Charming song, great melody. I now have Suspicion as one of my personal favorites. Gentle Man Of Colour is simple, dignified and effective, Barry Adamson refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. I listened to the opening track Trance Of Hatred and liked it a lot. Don’t judge Checkpoint Charlie on the first listening. Reverie marked the continuation of Barry Adamson in style evolution. Voice of Barry Adamson in Un Petit Miracle is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. 007 A Fantasy Bond Theme - a classic song. Adamson Family is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Nice and different song. On The Edge Of Atonement actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Barry Adamson’s face. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Barry Adamson. Cold Black Preach (Bonus Track) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Je T’aime…Moi Non Plus (Bonus Track) is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Soul Murder. A Perfectly Natural Union (Bonus Track) the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe.
