Since completing 1991’s ‘Anger! (Jimi’s Revenge)’, Banco De Gaia fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. ‘Medium’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Medium isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Anger! is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Befe is the song that really did it for me. If you are a Banco De Gaia fan, you will love Tempra (Full Iraqi Job). It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. No Banco De Gaia song has come close to capturing my attention as Disbelief did. Some call Data Inadequate from Medium as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Technah, which shows, blatantly, how much Banco De Gaia has evolved as a singer. I believe The Final Frontier is one of the most perfect, heartfelt songs ever written.
