After debuting at No. 1 last week, Autopsy’s album Shitfun falls to No. 2 with 533,000, a sales slide of 78%. It’s natural for Autopsy to take a stab at ‘Deathmask’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. Since Autopsy last CD (Shitfun) on Sparrow Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Autopsy ever.
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Fuckdog - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Praise The Children because the melody in the chorus is so good. The Birthing is perfect. In Shit Eater the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Formaldehigh is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I Sodomize Your Corpse on Shitfun is solid and easy to listen to. Geek makes a person feel exquisite. Brain Damage I just LOVE this mix! Blood Orgy is beautiful, yet underrated track. Once you hear No More Hate, you will listen to it over and over. Autopsy breathes new life into the music in Grave Violators. After about the third Maim Rape Kill Rape listen through, I began to believe this song is Autopsy’s essence. No Autopsy song has come close to capturing my attention as I Shit On Your Grave did. Music of An End To The Misery is gentle, never overbearing. Overall a nice softer song. Autopsy allows each song to breathe and flourish. Bowel Ripper - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Burnt To A Fuck is pretty funky and mellow. This track is clearly meant to showcase Autopsy’s vocal abilities. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Slaughterday (Live). After you’ve listened to Fiend For Blood (Live), most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Fleshcrawl (Live) is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This song stands out greatly from the others. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Charred Remains (Live) - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Such hits like Death Twitch (Live) will leave you hooked. Lyrics of Dead (Live) are precise and evocative. Spinal Extractions (Live) is one of these floating songs. I find myself hearing bits of Twisted Mass Of Burnt Decay (Live) here and there throughout my waking hours.
