There is so much to love about Asleep At The Wheel, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since completing 1994’s ‘Red Wing’, Asleep At The Wheel fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been eight years Asleep At The Wheel’ last studio CD, “Tribute To The Music Of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys (Dance Version)” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. I wish that “Tribute To The Music Of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys (Dance Version)” album was instrumental.
Big Ball In Cowtown - My least favorite song on this album. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Yearning (Just For You). Bring It On Down To My House is so unique, as each one of the songs is. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Asleep At The Wheel offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Billy Dale - A catchy, upbeat tune. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Old Fashioned Love - A classic Asleep At The Wheel track. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Ida Red. Misery is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. I Wonder If You Feel The Way I Do to me is the best you can get from Asleep At The Wheel. Hubbin’ It sets the tone for the entire album. Music in Corina, Corina is amazing as in all tracks of Tribute To The Music Of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys (Dance Version). Still Water Runs The Deepest - A strong beat. I was truly moved when I heard All Night Long. The opening track Got A Letter From My Kid Today is very much like you would expect from other albums. Dusty Skies is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Asleep At The Wheel ever produced.
