Aphex Twin was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Aphex Twin and Ventolin together. This is the first studio album from Aphex Twin since bad diagnosis in 1995. Lead single “Ventolin (Salbutamol Mix)” and “Ventolin (Praze - An - Beeble Mix)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Ventolin is the best essence of Aphex Twin.
Ventolin couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Ventolin (Praze - An - Beeble Mix). Ventolin (Marazanvose Mix) without a doubt is the standout song of Ventolin. Ventolin (Plain An - Gwarry Mix) is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Ventolin (The Coppice Mix) is a bit of a show-tune. Ventolin (Crowsmengegus Mix) is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
