There were many famous songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim available. Stanley Donwood has compared writing for Antonio Carlos Jobim’s new album to that on ‘Jazz Masters 13′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Antonio Carlos Jobim on ‘Corcovado’. Corcovado and Vivo Sonhando is really good.
I think Vivo Sonhando is the best song Antonio Carlos Jobim has ever done. The sound in So Danso Samba is really warm and Antonio Carlos Jobim’s signature voice is still very much present. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Song Oguas de Marso (Waters of March) is actually a funny song. Once you hear O Grande Amor, you will listen to it over and over. Agua de Beber presents the cool mix of instruments on Jazz Masters 13. Chovendo Na Roseira is almost impossible to review. O Morro Neo Tem Vez is a marvelous sing-along. Fascinating Rhythm is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Insensatez is one of the coolest songs Antonio Carlos Jobim has ever recorded. Instil Paisagem (Useless Landscape) gets you up and jumping. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Jazz Masters 13. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Antonio Carlos Jobim. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Borzeguim.
