‘The Straight Story’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Since Angelo Badalamenti last CD (The Straight Story) on Mute Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. On The Straight Story album, Angelo Badalamenti have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
L’anniversaire Dirvin is one of the best records ever. Music in Les Enfants Sauvent One is perfect as in all tracks of The Straight Story. Get The Straight Story and turn on Mort De La Pieuvre if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Opium Prince is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Straight Story. Le Ra… Radiateur is the albums biggest surprise. When I listen to La Cle De La Victoire in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Le Voyage Du Rkve has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Miette have really caught my ear and imagination. I now have L’execution as one of my personal favorites. Les Puces as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. In Cerises Pour Un doner A Deux the music gets its power. Krank… actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Angelo Badalamenti’s face. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Theme - La Cite Des Enfants Perdus is a bit of a show-tune.
