There were many famous songs of Angelique Kidjo available. Angelique Kidjo was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Angelique Kidjo and Aye together. Jim Jones has compared writing for Angelique Kidjo’s new album to that on ‘Aye’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Great Ethnic right here!
Adouma is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Aza Nan Kpe is probably the highlight of the album. Aye couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Tatchedogbe. Djan-Djan - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. It’s such an underrated song. Houngbati is probably one of Angelique Kidjo’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Aye is Idje-Idje. I now have Yemandja as one of my personal favorites. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor.
