Andy Pickford’s debut, ‘Dystopia’, does not fit easily into one genre. Dystopia is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Thom Yorke has compared writing for Andy Pickford’s new album to that on ‘Dystopia’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. I wish that “Dystopia” album was instrumental.
Dreifarbig Bomber (5:35) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Angstrom - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. The Girl From Planet X is Andy Pickford’s best work in years. Overlander rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This track is full of harmonies and gets Dystopia off to a relaxing start. The Furnace (Anvil Remix) is another favourite of mine. The Last Sundown is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Within the first few notes of The Chase it’s perfectly clear that Andy Pickford is living this song. Belvedere is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. I was truly moved when I heard Sundance. Album opener Sayonara ‘83 is a bright, upbeat ditty.
