A Brief History Of Ambient Volume 3 (CD 2) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. eleven years ago, Ambient - Various Artists briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Czukay & Wobble & Liebezeit / Mystery RPS (No 8)”. Ambient - Various Artists’s debut, ‘A Brief History Of Ambient Volume 3 (CD 2)’, does not fit easily into one genre. This album is awesome.
Czukay & Wobble & Liebezeit / Mystery RPS (No
- A strong beat. Prince Far I / Throw Away Your Gun (dub) motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Harold Budd & Brian Eno / Wind In Lonely Fences has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Ambient - Various Artists’s strong vocals come to the fore. I was truly moved when I heard King Crimson / Nuages (That Which Passes Like Clouds). In Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan / Mustt Mustt the music gets its power. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Fripp & Eno / Healthy Colours III - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. The Future Sound Of London / Cascade Pts 2 & 3 is a good listen every once in a while. Robert Quine & Fred Maher / Summer Storm is a song to enjoy for years to come. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Sylvian & Czukay / Mutability (excerpt) is really the reason why I recommend buying A Brief History Of Ambient Volume 3 (CD 2). Brian Eno / 2-2 is possibly the best song Ambient - Various Artists has come up.
