Alan Stivell was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Alan Stivell and The Mist Of Avalon together. seven years ago, Alan Stivell briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Morgan”. This is the first studio album from Alan Stivell since bad diagnosis in 1991. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Morgan
Alan Stivell breathes new life into the music in Morgan. Camaalot (Hymn 1) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Voice and instruments in Guenievre complement each other. Le Chant De Taliesin is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Alan Stivell released so far. La Blessure D’Arthur sets the tone for the entire album. Le Val Sans Retour (3:48) a good melody. A unique and uplifting song. Olwen gives good insight into the truths. Quest is a excellent song and it grows on you. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Mist Of Avalon. Horses On The Hills - Alan Stivell first major hit. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Alan Stivell. From Avallac’h presents the exquisite mix of instruments on The Mist Of Avalon. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Alan Stivell. I like the idea behind The Return (Hymn 2).
