While no new Alabama album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Australia. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Alabama on ‘Sunday Drive’. Alabama was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Alabama and In Pictures together. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
A unique and uplifting song. Voice of Alabama in My Love Belongs To You is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I’ve Loved A Lot More Than I’ve Hurt is another strong production from Alabama. The sound of Spin The Wheel is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Alabama offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. I now have Say I as one of my personal favorites. Some call It Works from In Pictures as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. The opening track The Maker Said Take Her is very much like you would expect from other albums. In Pictures is a excellent song and it grows on you. When I listen to Heartbreak Express in my car when traffic ain’t going so good.
