Since completing 1995’s ‘Indugo’, Al Di Meola fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. The Rite Of Strings isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. IT makes me wanna dance!
|titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Songtojohn is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Al Di Meola released so far. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Topanga - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Change Of Life is a bit of a show-tune. In La Cancion De Sofia Al Di Meola spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Memory Canyon is beautiful, yet underrated track.
