This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Afrika Bambaataa has. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Afrika Bambaataa. Since Afrika Bambaataa last CD (The Decade of Darkness (1990-2000)) on Mute Records back in 1991, I have felt a massive void in my life. Great Electronic right here!
Electro Funk Express is probably the highlight of the album. Freedom - A strong beat. The Decade of Darkness (1990-2000) couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track In a Minute. Just Get Up and Dance is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Power Boy Power is a bit different from Afrika Bambaataa stereotypical stuff. Save the World is one of my favorite songs by Afrika Bambaataa. Say it Loud (I’m Black, I’m Proud) is a cool sing-along. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Afrika Bambaataa. Steppin’ Hard Zulu Nation is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Music of Sweat is gentle, never overbearing. Taste the Funk has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Afrika Bambaataa’s strong vocals come to the fore.
