‘Verwustung - Invoke The Dark Age’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Abigor energies, virtually a rebirth. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Abigor on ‘A Spell Of Dark and Evil’. If you love Abigor as much as I do, then Abigor Verwustung - Invoke The Dark Age is the CD for you!
Beneath A Steel Sky is one of the best records ever. Abigor has astounded me with this amazing track. The sound of Eye To Eye At Armageddon is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. In Sin motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Kingdom Of Darkness one is one of the better boring ones. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. I find myself hearing bits of Universe Of Black Divine here and there throughout my waking hours. Weeping Midwintertears is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
