Since 2 Unlimited last CD (The Magic Friend) on Blue Note Records back in 1992, I have felt a massive void in my life. Lead single “The Magic Friend (Vocal Edit)” and “The Magic Friend (Instrumental Edit)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. For older fans The Magic Friend will put a massive smile accross your face. This is what good Dance should be.
The Magic Friend (Instrumental Edit) - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. The Magic Friend (Extended) is just simply stunning. Vocals of 2 Unlimited in The Magic Friend (Rio & Le Jean Remix) really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Magic Friend is Murphy’s Megamix (Mixed By Steven Murphy). Automatic Megamix (Mixed By DJ Automatic) is one of the best records ever.
