Since 16 Horsepower last CD (16 Horsepower) on Columbia Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. There is no doubt that 16 Horsepower has talent. Since completing 1995’s ‘Haw’, 16 Horsepower fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. One of 16 Horsepower’s best albums yet.
South Pennsylvania Waltz - Okay, I just talked about depth. Opening track Shametown shows the best of 16 Horsepower. In Straight-Mouth Stomp 16 Horsepower spins a tale you want to hear to the end. 16 Horsepower has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. I Gotta Gal - My least favorite song on this album.
