It’s natural for 10cc to take a stab at ‘Yvonne’s The One’ considering her long-professed love for Orkrist. This album has some very good songs like Yvonne’s The One and Code Of Silence. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of 10cc energies, virtually a rebirth. One of 10cc’s best albums yet.
I like the idea behind Code Of Silence. The song Blue Bird ending is my favorite… so catchy! After you’ve listened to Age Of Consent, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Take This Woman is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Musically The Monkey and The Onion is superior to other tracks in Mirror Mirror. I think Everything Is Not Enough is the best song 10cc has ever done. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Grow Old With Me is a fine track on any terms. One listen to the sheer beauty of Margo Wants The Mustard was all I needed. I find myself hearing bits of Peace In Our Time here and there throughout my waking hours. Why Did I Berak Your Heart is one of these floating songs. Voice of 10cc in Now You’re Gone is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I’m Not In Love is one of the more up-tempo songs on Mirror Mirror.
